Located in the southern-most appellation of Napa Valley, the historic Caldwell Vineyard in Coombsville AVA overlooks Napa from its perch 600ft up in an old volcanic caldera. The Caldwell family has farmed here for two generations and does so with extreme care. The volcanic soils are rich in iron and impart distinctive minerality and character and the cool, maritime-influenced air allows for one of the longest growing seasons in the valley. This slows the ripening, giving the wine more flavor, freshness, and energy.
